While it is much better to try and attack Eizen from behind to avoid damage, at the recommended level, Alphen will have enough HP to outlast Eizen's attacks. Attacking from a distance is also preferable, as Eizen can quickly turn around and strike back. This leaves his back vulnerable to any attacks made by your allies – try switching between characters to perform attacks on Eizen's back. Eizen is a Malak who has lived for 1000 years, he was born from an Earthpulse on the mountain known as Rayfalke Spiritcrest and is the older brother of Edna, a female protagonist from Tales of Zestiria. Throughout the battle, Eizen may focus on attacking whichever character you're directly controlling. Eizen ( Aizen) is a main character and a male protagonist in Tales of Berseria.
